    • DALLASTOWN Almeda "Medie" A. (Lentz) Brown, 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, December 24, at at her residence after a brief illness. She was the wife of her loving husband, Denton L. Brown, who entered into rest on August 13, 2012. She was born in Dallastown, on January 25, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Clinton D. and Alice L. (Reichard) Lentz. Medie worked at the Day Care at Christ Lutheran Church in Dallastown, retiring after 30 years of service. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Dallastown for more than 50 years and was a volunteer in its nursery department. Surviving are daughters, Brenda Lee Mitchell of St. Petersburg, Fla., and her husband, Richard, JoAnn Marie Arnold of York and her husband, Donald, and Karen Lynn Bloemker of Pottstown, and her husband, Joseph; six grandchildren, Jeremy Arnold, Brandice Lardner, Justin Arnold, Megan Knaub, Daniel Bloemker, and Rachel Bloemker; six great-grandchildren; and beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, December 29, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 109 E. Main St., Dallastown. A Service of Honor and Praise for Medie will be on Monday at 11 a.m. at the church with her pastor, the Rev. Roger H. Mentzer, officiating. Burial will be at Dallastown Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to Bethlehem U.M. Church, 109 E. Main St., Dallastown, PA 17313. Medie was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. She was a person who touched many lives with her personality and her loving and caring mannerisms, always offering encouragement to others and putting the needs of others before her own. In her teens, Medie and her twin sister Irita were part of a quartet. They sang on the radio and at various venues and traveled as far away as Kentucky to perform. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to all of her wonderful family and friends who were such a big part of her life. She will be greatly missed by everyone.
