- RED LION Emanuel P. "Manny" Barshinger, 95, died Wednesday, December 14, 2005, at Kingston Nursing Home in Conway, S.C. He was the husband of the late Cordie R. (Grove) Barshinger, with whom he shared 70 years of marriage. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Home, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with his pastor, the Rev. Ronald Schmuck, officiating. Burial will be in Zion U.M. Cemetery. A viewing will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Manny was born April 11, 1910, in Springvale a son of the late Nathaniel B. and Elsie M. (Grim) Barshinger. He had worked for Red Lion Cabinet Company, York Casket Company, and Cole Steel. He was a faithful and active servant of the Lord and a member of Red Lion Bible Church. Mr. Barshinger is survived by a son, Preston E. and wife, Mildred Barshinger of Conway, S.C.; two grandsons, Scott and wife, Heidi, and Jeffrey and wife, Kerri; a granddaughter, Susan and husband, Chris Ammon; six great-grandchildren, Preston, Lexi, Cameron, Jack, Emily, and Andrew; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Aleda Wolgamuth; two brothers, Norman L. and Clarence D. Barshinger; and a sister, Ruth Kornbau. Memorial contributions may be made to Red Lion Bible Church, 105 Springvale Road, Red Lion, PA 17356; or to Mercy Hospice, Horry County, PO Box 50640, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579.
