    • DOVER Calvin W. Dentler, 87, passed away Monday, January 30, 2012, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Ruth L. (Henry) Dentler with whom he celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary on August 20, 2011, and the late Mary Sue (Townsend) Dentler who died in 1983, with whom he was married for 35 years. Mr. Dentler was born in Dover on September 23, 1924, son of the late Clayton A. and Mary C. (Wolgamuth) Dentler. He was a graduate of Dover High School and Elizabethtown College. Calvin served his country honorably in the Army Air Corp as a B24 pilot during W.W.II. He was employed as a Purchasing Supervisor for DuPont from which he retired after 30 years of service. His memberships include, the West York VFW Post 8951, Shiloh American Legion Post 791, Viking Athletic Assoc., Zeredatha Lodge F&M 451, Harrisburg Consistory, Scottish Rite, Zembo Shrine and the Dover Fish and Game Assoc. In addition to his wife, survivors include, four children: Phyllis Ingram and her husband, Doug of Dover; Anita Schnetzka and her husband, Joe of Dover; Deborah Short and her husband, Ronn of Dover and (William) David Reese and his wife, Sue of Gettysburg; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, June Krouse of York; Carrie Smith of Elizabethown; Jean Smith of York, and Fern Hays of York; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Dentler and Charlie Dentler both previously of Dover. Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 2, 2012, at 10 a.m. from the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York (Shiloh). Officiating will the Rev. Dr. Eddie D.D. Miller of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Emigsville. Final resting place will be in Salem Union Cemetery, Dover, with full military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. There will be a viewing Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
