- YORK Betty P. (Dunlap) Schoaff went home to her Lord and Savior after a brief illness on Sun., Sept. 21, 2014, at Normandie Ridge in York at 3:44 a.m. at the age of 84 . She was the wife of the late Richard Schoaff and the late Clair J. Lehman. Betty was born in Lower Chanceford Twp. on Oct. 10, 1929, and was the daughter of the late James H. and Pauline G. (Brown) Dunlap. Betty was a seamstress at the former Danskin in York, retiring in 1988 after 25 years of service. She attended West Side Baptist Church in Thomasville. Surviving are four sons, James A. Flinchbaugh (Bonnie) of York, Philip H. Flinchbaugh of York, Kenneth E. Flinchbaugh (Janice) of Dover and David E. Flinchbaugh (Marsha) of Red Lion; two daughters, Beth Ann Weimer of Bailey, Colo. and Nadine M. Ort of York; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; five sisters, Merle McLaughlin of Point Deposit, Md., Anna Boyd of York, Lois Bastress of York, Mary Woolen of New Mexico, Shirley Shenberger of York; one brother, James Dunlap, Jr. of Felton; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Flinchbaugh and Janet Ness; and six brothers, W. Edward, David, John, Harold, Glenn and Curvin Dunlap. There will be no viewing. Visitation will be on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise for Betty will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Her pastor, Kermit L. Minnick, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17604; or to West Side Baptist Church, P.O. Box 274, Thomasville, PA 17364. Betty was a very devoted Mother and Grandmother. She enjoyed sewing and making gowns, dolls and other things for her family. Years ago, Betty was a competitive roller skate dancer at the former Roll 'R' Way in York. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
