    • DOVER - Bruce D. Walton, 80, died at 7:25 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2011, at his home. He was the loving husband of Elaine A. (Gwizdala) Walton. The couple celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on May 21, 2010. Born August 17, 1930, in Warrington Township, he was the son of the late Ira F. and Luverna (Nelson) Walton. Bruce graduated from Dover High School in 1948 and later served in the U.S. Air Force as a radar operator during the Korean Conflict. Bruce retired in 1996 following 11 years of service as a corrections officer for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections at Camp Hill State Prison. He was a member of St. David's E.C. Church in Dover; Starview Sportsmen Association; 12th Ward Democratic Club; Prince Athletic Association; and NRA. Bruce was a life member of Dillsburg VFW Post 6771 and also a member of Dillsburg American Legion Post 26 and Shiloh American Legion Post 791. He and his wife delivered Meals on Wheels for the Dillsburg Senior Center for 10 years. Bruce enjoyed hunting, gardening and traveling. In addition to his wife, Bruce is survived by three sons, Randal B. Walton and wife, Nancy of East Berlin, Michael C. Walton and wife, Bonnie of Dover, and Jeffrey A. Walton and wife, Shona of Jacobus; four grandchildren, Kiersten, Jeremy, Chad and Andrea; and three great-grandchildren, Lucas, Haleigh and Eowyn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Bruce's funeral at 11 a.m. on Thursday and the viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will follow in Emanuel Cemetery, Lewisberry, where veteran's honors will be presented by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. N. Patrick Teaford. Memorial contributions may be made to St. David's E.C. Church, 2411 Oakland Rd., Dover, PA 17315.
